Android Logo can dance – RIC Android Robot

You have already seen and enjoyed the Google’s Android operating system on Smartphones and Tablets. Several users from around the world have accepted it. It has become so much popular in these years that two Japanese companies,  Brilliant Service and RT Corporation, developed a real working robot based on Google’s Android operating system. This most interesting product, RIC Android Robot, was showcased on September 14, 2010, at the Google Developer Day. RT Corporation built the hardware, while Brilliant Service developed the software. It is the first robot to use Google’s Android operating system.

RIC Android Robot weighs around 14kg (31 pounds), and is 1.3 meters high. When it opens his mouth to show off its on-board controller, its height is increased by 5.3 inches. It can do many things like waving, swaying, walking, moving his head and even talks. It can even make a sound or play music, since it is equipped with speakers. This cool invention took 60 days for completion.

RIC Android Robot has been made with Android-based 15 joints and is controlled using Android Smartphone via Wi-Fi network. However, there is no information about the version of Android used for developing this Robot. The Robot looks very similar to Google’s Android mascot. It has two horns on head and is installed in a green tub. It is completely painted in green color.

Both companies are planning to develop a system that can extend the functionality of the Robot by giving the motion control. Invention of such product signifies that the future of Google’s Android operating system is too bright. No one has ever thought that such type of invention is possible with Android operating system.
